35 Homemade Recipes for Raw Milk and Dairy Products
I love learning how to do new things. It makes me happy to find out how to make something I have always just bought from the store.
In my youth, I didn’t even know you could make dairy products at home. Sure, I had heard of churning butter but no one I knew had ever done it.
A few months ago, I discussed how raw milk is awesome and you should get some if you can (I know it isn’t available everywhere). We have been back on our raw milk schedule for about 6 months now and we are loving it. It just makes you feel good to know you are doing something beneficial for your family every week and supporting a local farm as well.
Today, I want to share recipes with you so that you can learn how to make dairy products at home too (raw or not). I haven’t made all of these yet, but my family loves homemade butter and ice cream so far. We also plan to learn how to make yogurt in the Instant Pot this winter. What could be better than that?

Every time you learn how to make something new that you always bought from the store before, you are increasing your self reliance. Our ancestors made everything at home or bartered with a neighbor for it.
This modern homesteader wants to learn how to use modern resources to make homemade items that are always healthier than their store bought equivalent. It is important to know what is in your food, and by making it from scratch you have total control of the ingredients.
Do I want to hand churn butter? Not really (although I could if I had too). But I do enjoy using my KitchenAid mixer to do the churning for me. And the end result is yummy, yellow butter that is awesome!
