Fall is my favorite season. I love all things fall: sweaters, cooler weather, changing leaf colors, football and pumpkin spice.
I love food that makes me feel warm and cozy when it starts to get cold outside.

I don’t share very many of my own recipes on this blog. I’m just not good at making new recipes and I don’t want to get the measurements and directions wrong. I am more comfortable just linking to other blogs with awesome recipes.
That being said, I decided to share this one today because it is a family recipe from my husband’s side of the family. It is a great cool weather dinner that is simple and yummy.
I am sharing the smaller version of the recipe, but for my family I would double it. It is a crockpot recipe that you can start in the morning and enjoy for dinner the same day.

- Cook the ground beef. Drain. Add ground beef, tomato sauce, ranch style beans and chili powder to the crockpot. Cook the chili mixture on high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours in the crockpot. Cook rice (I prefer the rice cooker for this step).
- Layer in bowl: Fritos on bottom. Then rice on top of fritos. Add chili mixture on top of rice. Finish with cheese on top of the chili.
