Halloween is over and Christmas is on the way.
Don’t worry, I didn’t forget Thanksgiving. We are hosting Thanksgiving dinner this year and I can’t wait to fire up my Instant Pot to get it all done.

But as soon as Thanksgiving is over (even that night) I am ready for Christmas cheer.
So today, I want to share with you my favorite Christmas movies that my family watches every year. We used to have them on disc and we kept them in the attic to only watch during the holidays.
But when we lost them in the fire, we haven’t replaced them. So we usually try to record them on YouTubeTV or save them on Netflix to watch.
So without further ado, let’s see how many Christmas favorites we have in common. These are listed in no particular order because I’m really not sure if I could do that.
My Top 10 Favorite Christmas Movies We Watch Every Year
1. A Christmas Story
This is my favorite Christmas movie. I don’t know if it because it is a throw back to simpler times or what. But I think it’s funny. My husband thinks it’s depressing, but that’s ok. To each his own.
2. Christmas with the Kranks
I am a big Tim Allen fan, as you can tell by my choices on this list. Christmas with the Kranks is funny and heartwarming at the same time. As I get closer to my kids graduating and moving out of the house, it gets more realistic each year.
3. The Polar Express
The Polar Express is a cartoon that is beautifully animated and written. I love that Tom Hanks plays so many parts. It is just magical. My kids loved this movie as children.
4. White Christmas
White Christmas is a Christmas classic. I love old movies like this: the music, dancing and timeless themes. Great movie!
5. Elf
Elf is a movie that I didn’t like when it first came out. It has grown on me and now I think it is hilarious. My teenage boys love this movie every year.
6. Home Alone 1 & 2
I watched this movie as a kid and thought it would be awesome to be home alone. I love the first 2 movies of this series. The others not so much.
7. The Santa Clause Series
Another Tim Allen triumph, the Santa Clause series is a great family series about the importance of Christmas and family togetherness. It is also pretty funny.
8. It’s A Wonderful Life
Another Christmas classic, I have to watch it every year. It reminds me of what’s really important in my life and I love the old movie themes. I think I have just about every word memorized.
9. Little Women
I love this sweet movie. Although it doesn’t totally take place at Christmas, I consider it a Christmas movie because of the sacrifices they made as a family at Christmas time. A sweet adaptation of the literary classic.
10. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
As a teenager, my dad watched this movie every year (and still does). He thought it was hilarious and so do I. I am lucky to have a much more grounded husband and family. But you can’t help but love the Griswold family for all their problems and tribulations.
There you have it! My top 10 favorite Christmas movies I have to watch every year!
Of course, this doesn’t include the Hallmark Channel movies I watch each year as well. Especially if they have Candace Cameron Bure in them. I love those sweet family movies.
I can’t wait til Thanksgiving is finished and we can officially start watching Christmas movies! It’ll be here before we know it.
