Mother’s Day can be a tricky holiday.
You love your mother. You want to give her a great gift.
But she can pretty much buy what she wants, so her needs or wants aren’t obvious.
Most of the time, mothers just want to be valued and appreciated. They just want to be remembered on this special day.
So today, I wanted to give you a list of things you can get for your mother on Mother’s Day this year. The list is broken up into things you can buy, make or do depending on the age and expectation of your mother.

Things to Do
Go on a walk- Moms just want some time to talk and find out what is going on in your life. Give her an hour (or more) and go for a long walk to share what is on your mind.
Make a meal- Whether it is breakfast in bed or a nice lunch, making mom a meal while she relaxes shows her that you know how much she does for you every day.
Take pictures together- Moms love to have pictures of their kids and grandkids, so make it special and without fuss. She will cherish them forever.
Go to the movies- Go see a movie mom wants to see but doesn’t want to go by herself. It will be a great bonding experience.
Get a message or pedicure- Moms love to get pampered and they don’t usually do it themselves. Encourage your mom to take a break from the everyday and enjoy some relaxing time with a message or pedicure.
Plant a garden or flowers- Thinking about getting flowers for mom? Maybe you should help her plant some flowers or vegetables that she can enjoy all season long.

As a mother of 3 teenagers, I would love to get any of these gifts. When kids grow up to be teenagers, they don’t have a teacher to help them make homemade gifts for their mom. They have to go it alone.
And let’s face it. As a mother of 3 boys, they don’t always give the most thoughtful gifts. It is usually a last minute gift grab or nice gesture.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ll take it and treasure it forever.
But I wanted to give my readers a chance to be better. To put time and thought into their gifts and knock it out of the park!
Happy Mother’s Day to all those mothers reading this. I hope you have a great day!
